Living Heritage Scurry Driving Championships

The Living Heritage Scurry Driving Championship series is now in its third year and going from strength to strength with more competitors than ever before taking part.

If you would like to get involved in the sport of scurry driving or would like more information go to www.scurrydrivers.co.uk and talk to the people who love the sport so much.

Scurry driving is the sport of driving a pair of ponies pulling a vehicle through a course of cones as fast as possible. On each cone is placed a ball, if the ball is dislodged time penalty points are added to the time. The winner is the driver with the quickest overall time. Of all equestrian sports, scurry driving must rank as one of the most exciting. Imagine the spectacle of a pair of small ponies scuttling at breakneck speed around a twisting course roared on by an enthusiastic crowd, whipped to a frenzy by an expert commentator.

Scurry driving competitions are divided into two classes: for ponies 12 hands and under and for ponies between 12 hands and 14.2 hands.
