Romany Workshop - Bodging

Traditional Woodturning & Romany Caravan
Charles and Olive Williamson bought and restored a turn of the century(1908)romany bow top caravan.Charles set to work reconstructing the bodywork, canvas and extensive metalwork.A local wheelwright restored the original wagon wheels and shafts.Olive designed and painted the entire caravan using authentic styles and techniques. The finished caravan is beautiful, and now it works for a living raising money for charity.
Olive and Charles also have a traditional"bygone" lathe.using fresh local logs they demonstrate "eco friendly" turning(bodging). They produce whips and tops, rustic stools and many more other useful items for sale.Olive daughter, cherie is on hand to decorate and personalise anything with"pyrography".They are very welcoming and down to earth, and they encorage the public to be hands on
